The Remarkable: Artists to Remember

The Remarkable: Artists to Remember brought together twenty-one artists whose practices represent significant strands of Korean modern and contemporary art. Moving across abstraction, Dansaekhwa, experimental art, hyperrealism, landscape, figuration, and material-based practices, the exhibition placed historically established figures alongside distinctive later generations. Works by artists including Kim Whanki, Kim Tschang-Yeul, Lee Ufan, Lee Kun-Yong, Lee Bae, Park Seo-Bo, Yun Hyong-Keun, Koh Young-Hoon, Yoon Byung Rock, Lee Sea-Hyun, Ha Tae-Im, and others highlighted the diversity of Korean art rather than reducing it to a single movement. The exhibition invited viewers to look beyond reputation alone and consider the ideas, values, and individual artistic worlds that have shaped the continuing development of Korean art.
