Lee Kyu Gyeong — Resonance
March 2 – April 4, 2024
In Resonance: Unconscious & Consciousness, Lee Kyu Gyeong approaches painting as an encounter between inner experience and outward perception. The artist describes “resonance” as a way of placing an object between mirrored states of life—the unconscious and the conscious—while also creating a truthful dialogue with events, myths, stories, legends, and other humanistic sources. Known for highly detailed figurative painting, Lee uses recognizable objects and carefully constructed pictorial spaces not simply to reproduce reality but to open psychological and symbolic dimensions beyond it. The exhibition invites viewers to consider how perception, memory, narrative, and the unconscious reverberate through familiar forms.
