Seo Sook-Yang — Golden: Flow of Light

Golden: Flow of Light presents Seo Sook-Yang’s sustained exploration of light through the material and symbolic properties of 24-karat gold. Centered on the artist’s Flow of Light series, the exhibition brings together recent and major works in which light is treated not simply as a visual effect but as a language of creation, life, and existence. Seo repeatedly layers and works extremely thin sheets of gold leaf, allowing the surface to reflect, absorb, and redirect light as the viewer moves. The resulting paintings shift between material density and immaterial luminosity. Through repetition, layered surfaces, and carefully preserved areas of emptiness, the exhibition considers permanence, renewal, inner expansion, and the possibility of light as both physical presence and metaphysical idea.
