Koh Young-Hoon, Lee Suk-Ju, Han Man-Young, Ju Tae-Seok - Four Illusions
April 25 – June 25, 2026
Four Illusions brings together Koh Young-Hoon, Lee Suk-Ju, Han Man-Young, and Ju Tae-Seok—four artists who have developed distinctive approaches to reality, perception, memory, and image-making within Korean contemporary painting. Koh’s hyperrealist practice uses precise representation to question the boundary between object and illusion. Lee constructs contemplative spaces in which familiar objects, landscapes, and fragments of time move between reality and the surreal. Han juxtaposes classical imagery and everyday objects in his long-running Reproduction of Time series, collapsing distinctions between past and present, East and West. Ju approaches nature through highly controlled color, light, and detailed representation, transforming trees and landscapes into psychologically charged spaces. Presented together, the four practices reveal how realism can become a vehicle for philosophical reflection rather than mere representation.
